About me

I hope you are enjoying my garden blog as much as I enjoy sharing gardening news with you.

My interest in gardening began with my move from Buffalo to the southtowns.  I left behind a driveway with a "landing strip" and gained a 1/2 an acre of glorious acid soil!

In 2010 I initiated the annual Professional Senate Staff  Plant Exchange at the University at Buffalo (UB).  I am a member of the Hamburg Garden Walk Committee, Hamburg Beautification Committee, and a volunteer with National Garden Walk.

I have over nine years of experience in academic and research administration at UB.  My experience includes marketing, financial management, alumni relations, event planning, and student recruitment.  Please see a sample of my work as co-editor of the Compass newsletter, spring 2006 and fall 2006 and event planner for Career Fair.

In 2010 I re-launched the Graduate Interdisciplinary Degree program.  As a result of my successful marketing efforts I have been promoted to Marketing/Development Associate in the College of Arts and Sciences at UB.  My focus is academic program development, student recruitment and event planner for the annual fall Dean's Advisory Council.  I am also a consultant for graduate enrollment at St. Bonaventure University.

I am also on the Steering Committee  for UB university-wide events such as Campaign for the Community and  Greener Shade of Blue.
